Community service scholarships will recognize your active participation and contributions to the community. Colleges and universities take pride in molding students into well-rounded, compassionate, and community-minded individuals in just four years. While a liberal arts education is unquestionably valuable, and college can make a significant difference in your life and worldview, why wait until you’re on campus to get involved in the community? Colleges, scholarship providers, and the general public will all appreciate a student who wants to make a difference in the world.

Benefits of Community Service

Participating in community service activities as a high school student can be very beneficial, not just for attending a college interview. Students who participate in extracurricular activities can expect a variety of benefits, including

Work and Personal Experience

Students who participate in community service activities related to their future career goals can gain real-world experience and thus gain an advantage in the competition and college-planning process. Volunteering can also help students improve their skill sets and prepare them for work experiences unrelated to their community service work.

Connections

Volunteering allows you to expand your social and professional circles. Thus, contacts can write letters of recommendation for your college and scholarship applications, act as references when you are job hunting, and possibly even help you find a job. At the very least, working with others allows you to develop networking skills, which will be helpful later in your professional life.

 A Broader Perspective

While doing community service, you meet new people and learn many new things. Exposure to new people and environments can help shape the course of your life and your perspective on the world around you. Community service also provides a sense of purpose and direction.

The following list of scholarships should help you out:
